Beautiful Spots in Sapporo
Moerenuma Park has several highlights: dramatic woods full of white birch trees, versatile green fields with winding paths and hills, and contemporary art by the Japanese-American artist Isamu Noguchi. This location has beautiful nature that you can enjoy any time throughout the year-- the sky's the limit. The photos above almost look like they're taken from a fairytale. Takino Suzuran Hillside National Government Park

If you’re looking for beautiful flower fields, but don’t want to make a long trek, check out Takino Suzuran Hillside National Government Park. They large, expansive flower fields all throughout the year—except for winter, when the snow covers the entire park in a sheet of pure white. In the spring, you’ll see Tulips. The summer has Lavenders. And the Fall has Cosmos. Photo shoots here can be fun for both couples and for families. They even have a huge children’s park for playing around with all sorts of fun features for your children to enjoy. And if you’re there in the winter, there’s a fun ski slope too! There is an entrance fee: 410 yen for adults, 80 yen for children.
Former Hokkaido Government Office Building

Do you have a fascination with bricks, or the color red? Or maybe you just want an awesome photo shoot spot. Well, this place is a popular location for photo shoots, despite being a former government building. Its red bricks are so popular that its nickname is the “Red Brick Building”. There’s a long, red brick path lined with Ginko trees that welcome you to the building. This is a beautiful spot, especially when the leaves are changing in the fall— the warm colors are simply captivating.

Odori Park
If you’re coming from the Red Brick Building, this 1-km park is a beautiful location—especially in the spring time! The area is covered with greenery and flower patches that can give you a light and cheery photo shoot.
You can also see the Sapporo TV Tower, which gives a hint of “modernity” in your photo shoot.

Beautiful Spots outside of Sapporo (in Hokkaido General Area)
For adventurous couples and families, Hokkaido (the island where Sapporo is located) is wide and vast, with natural beauties all over. Here are a few suggestions if you’re willing to go that extra mile for a beautiful photo. Please note that most photographers will require an extra fee for these locations.
Furano & Biei
This area is famous for its lavender fields, which are available in July. Farm Tomita is the most popular location for this, where you’ll find yourself eye-to-eye with the most incredible, endless fields on lavender. The location is growing in popularity, but there are a variety of lavender farms to choose from— please consult with your photographer to find out which field is best for your shoot!
The Hokuryu Sunflower Field (Himawari no Sato)♪
A field full of sunflowers! About a couple hours away from Sapporo, it is overflowing with sunflowers— the best time to visit is from mid-July to late August. There are 23.1 hectares of sunflowers, providing a backdrop that is sure to make anyone’s jaws drop. You certainly won’t find this in any other part of Japan. (And they have a Sunflower maze that you can try out too.)
Higashimokoto Shibazakura Park

This park is famous for its Shibazakura (Moss Phlox), best visited in mid-May to early June. Shibazakura literally translates as “Cherry Blossoms on the Lawn”, most likely due to its beautiful colors that are just as beautiful—if not more beautiful—than the traditional blossoms in the trees. The Shibazakura blossom close to the ground, and cover a vast amount of space. A must-see location for any traveler.
Niseko
Niseko is a famous ski resort are in Hokkaido, with the world’s best high-quality snow and luxury hotels. And the location is overflowing with dynamic scenery for your shoot. If your dream is to capture snow in your photo shoot, and budget is not an issue, Niseko is a great choice.
Otaru

Otaru is a port city, well-known for its beautiful canal. It’s close enough for a day-trip from Sapporo, and the town gives off a charming, homey vibe. If you’re looking for a photo shoot reminiscent of an older Japan (with western architecture influences), then this is a great place to go. The Otaru Canal is considered the heart of the town— the nighttime view is beautiful, and the snow gives Otaru a magical feel.
